Father Mavedzenge Auto-biography
Rev. Fr. Cuthbert Mavedzenge was born in 1984 in Gutu. He is a fourth born in a family of seven; six boys and a girl. He did his primary education at Mutero primary school and Secondary education at Chadzamira secondary school. Rev. Fr. Cuthbert went to Mazowe Pre-Major Seminary in 2006 where he did his first year of formation. He did his philosophical studies at St. Augustine Major Seminary from 2007 to 2010 and Theology studies at Chishawasha Regional Major Seminary from 2010 to 2014. Currently, he is a holder of a diploma in philosophy with the University of Zimbabwe, a Diploma in Religious Studies with the University of Zimbabwe, a Diploma in Theology with the Chishawasha Regional Major Seminary, and a Bachelor of Theology Honours Degree with the Catholic University in Zimbabwe.
Rev. Fr. Cuthbert was ordained priest on 15 July 2015 by the then Apostolic Nuncio in Zimbabwe Archbishop Marek Zalewski. He was ordained together with Rev. Fr. Enock Chivorese. He was assigned to Ss Peter and Paul Cathedral for his pastoral year. Since his ordination Rev. Fr. Cuthbert has held the following duties and responsibilities: Bishop’s Secretary, Assistant Social Communications Coordinator, Regional Chaplain to Tertiary Institutions in Masvingo Diocese, Assistant Vocations Promoter, Member of Seminary Vocations Board, Parish Priest of St. Theresa Rujeko Parish, Spiritual advisor to St. Anne and St. Monica guilds.
